Community Standards
Part of our mission is to create an environment in which everyone feels that learning rope bondage is possible for them. In order to facilitate this, we hold our group to following standards.
1. Be respectful in your actions and how you address others and navigate disagreements.
2. We are looking to cultivate a growth mindset. Skills are acquired through a commitment to learning. This includes a dedication to practicing skills learned in class, taking initiative to ask questions about why things are done the way they are, and thinking deeply about what rope means to you. Additionally, making mistakes is part of the learning process. Critiques on your rope work are not a critique on you as a person. Every mistake and critique will help improve your skills.
3. This group provides instruction on NSFW content and is therefore for those 18+ only. Some of this content may not be to your preferences in rope or sense of aesthetics. Please keep critiques to technique and safety, not style or aesthetics. Critiques on aesthetics are only welcome when directly asked for by the creator of that content.
4. We deeply value consent. Make sure to negotiate and have a thorough discussion with anyone you plan on tying with. We recommend using an inclusive negotiation style, where only the things discussed as okay can be included in your interaction together. Also, we remind you that it is okay to change your mind at any time and opt out of something you previously agreed to.
5. Finally, we value the privacy of our students. Some individuals will not be in a position to be publicly "out" about their interest or participation in rope bondage as this is still considered taboo in many parts of our society.
If you see someone you know from our group in a different setting, do not contact or approach them without prior permission.
Do not provide identifying information about other members of our group to others without prior permission.
While we allow photography at our events, you may only photograph consenting individuals. If someone is in the background of your shot, ask their permission or ask them to move out of frame. Additionally, if you take photos of anyone, get the consent of all the individuals in the photo before sharing that image with anyone or online.
Penalties to breaking these rules with result in warning on the first offense. Repeat offenses (depending on severity) will potentially impact your ability to attend class. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly if you are experiencing issues that go against our community standards.
